Facial Skin Care
Some women achieve this flawless condition of their skin by pampering themselves to a facial on a regular basis. A facial done by a professional is sure to feel great and yields terrific results, but it can be costly to have a professional facial done to our face too often. Thankfully, it is possible to give yourself a facial right in the comfort of your own home.
The first step to giving yourself a facial is to cleanse your face. Wet your face with lukewarm water and then apply your regular cleanser. Gently massage the cleanser on your skin in circular strokes in order to get the oil and the grime off your face. If the skin of your face is oily, use a clarifying cleanser. If it is dry, opt for a gentle, creamy cleanser.
After rinsing the cleanser off your face, apply an exfoliating scrub. Gently rub the product on your face, again with circular strokes. The exfoliating scrub will slough away the stubborn dirt on your skin as well as the dead skin cells. If you have oily skin, pay extra attention to your T-zone; that is your forehead, your nose and your chin. The T-zone tends to get more oily and greasy than the other parts of the face. When you are done, rinse the exfoliating scrub from your face, again with lukewarm water.
Once you are done exfoliating your skin, fill a basin with warm water. Then, wet a clean face towel with the warm water and dab it gently against your face. This will open the pores of the skin even more and make it more receptive to your pampering. Do this three or four times.
Then apply a facial mask generously all over your face. However, avoid the eye area when doing so. Let the facial mask sit on your face for about fifteen to twenty minutes. If your skin is oily, use a clay-based facial mask. On the other hand, if your skin is dry or the combination type, use a facial mask that is either hydrating or cream-based. You can buy a ready-made facial mask or make your own. There are many facial mask recipes that can be downloaded on the Internet.
Afterwards, thoroughly rinse the facial mask product off your face. This time, use cold water to close your pores. And then, dab your face dry with a clean towel. The last step in the do-it-yourself facial would be to apply moisturizer on your face.
Getting a facial not only keeps the skin of the face healthy and glowing and keeps the pimples and blackheads away; it also gives us a very refreshing feeling. Pampering yourself with a facial, whether at home or in a salon, is a great way of taking care of yourself and showing yourself that you are worth the effort of keeping beautiful.
